Nvidia’s Gtx 10 series graphic cards were really successful this year. The company, which revolutionized power consumption with Maxwell, has taken it one step further with Pascal, allowing us to see the frequencies that we have never seen on video cards before.

NVIDIA’s second greatest innovation is the they achieved to bring power of Pascal to Laptop computers. This experiment was first done with GTX 980 and was successful.

But because of the size and power consumption of Gtx 980 it was a bit strange with laptops. With the GTX 10 , this problem disappeared. BUY NOW ON AMAZON

NVIDIA now has a share of more than 90% on the external GPU market in notebook PCs. This is an incredible number. The company has started to achieve this goal with the 700M and 800M series.

The main factor here is the “rebranding” approach AMD has been pursuing for years. Optimizing the same GPU slightly and trying to sell it again was not welcomed by both producers and consumers.

Many users are still trying to figure out when they bought a notebook computer how the 6000M series graphics card is becoming 7000M after the driver update.

As if all these things were not enough, the AMD users had to get bogged down in the field of “Switchable Graphics”. Of course, NVIDIA’s Optimus solution is not perfect, but it’s a fact that it works much better than Switchable Graphics.

With the new Rx series, AMD has a great opportunity to return to the laptops market. But here again, we see that NVIDIA is behind of AMD in terms of power consumption.

This is a negative situation for notebook PCs because as we know battery life is important for laptops. NVIDIA announced that the firm has made improvements in this regard.

Time will show us that how this is true, but it is a fact that AMD’s strong ties to Apple have given the firm at least the opportunity to offer its products here.

We see that the new Skylake Macbook models do not have an external graphics processor other than Polaris. BUY NOW ON AMAZON

Desktop GTX 1070 Performance

ASUS GL502VS

Although AMD has not succeeded in fostering competition, NVIDIA has succeeded in reducing power consumption by improving performance on every new benchmark, and now desktop GTX 1070 performance has come to the notebooks.

Moreover, this computer only has 2.34 kg and 30mm thickness. Not many, but three years ago, thick and cumbersome performance laptop computers are now much lighter and sleeker. In addition to all of these, Gysnc-powered panels, much faster storage units and more powerful processors are waiting for us with new gaming laptops.

Although NVIDIA claims that the GTX 1070 brings its performance to the PC, users will doubt it. This will bring along the following question: Will I be able to get same GTX 1070 performance as on the desktop?

The answer to this question is really clear: almost complete! The GTX 1080 on the desktop has a 1920 Shader unit. On the GTX 1080, there are 2048 Shader units. On the other hand desktop versions have 1506 – 1683 MHz (Boost) frequencies but laptop versions have 1443 – 1645 MHz (Boost).

NVIDIA is putting back the performance lost from frequency with a shader unit. The resulting performance is streamlined gameplay in the 1440p Ultra.

PCI Express Storage of ASUS GL502VS

ASUS is using a storage unit that is worthy of the ROG series. They use OEM version of Samsung’s 950 PRO, which SM951 PCI Express 3.0 x4 M.2 on ASUS GL502VS. Moreover, SSD does not have a 128 GB storage.

With 256GB capacity, you can install many games into your SSD. In terms of performance, there are enormous numbers: Writing: 2,150MB / s Reading: 1,260MB / s. We reached these promised figures easily in our tests with ASUS GL502VS.

Additional storage capacity is also considered. This includes a 1 TB hard drive running at 7200 rpm. This disk is Hitachi’s Travlestar 7K1000 series, puncture proof model. You can replace both this disc and the SSD with the higher models.

Result

As a result, ASUS GL502VS is very successful gaming laptop with Skylake and Pascal architectures. Although it offers a performance less than our expectation in terms of processor temperature, we see that the 1080p panel is a bottleneck for the product in terms of game performance.

At 144oP you can adjust the highest settings without doubt. In addition to all these, the GL502VS is an attractive feature in terms of product’s whiteness and lightness.
