Razer Phone: The Perfect Gaming Phone

-

Razer, a company famous for building hardware for video games, has now decided to venture into the smartphone world with its announcement of the new Razer phone. Phones like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone 8 have blown us away with their gaming performance, but this beast – the Razer Phone – steps it up.

Popular for the success and performance of their gaming laptops, and variety of hardware, we can only expect the best when Razer announced the launch of a smartphone.

Razer Phone Review

Software

The Razer Phone runs the Android operating system, version 7.1(Nougat) which is believed to be upgradeable to version 8.0 (Oreo).

Design & Display

The Razer Phone is a 5.72-inched, Quad HD  120 Hz UltraMotion display phone offering higher quality, and if there’s a performance issue while gaming causing the framerate to drop, the display will adapt accordingly, eliminating any form of lag or stuttering.

It has an aluminium back, the fingerprint sensor side-mounted and possibly the biggest design new, absence of an earphone jack.

Memory & Performance

The Razer phone has an internal memory of 64GB, which would be expandable with a microSD of up to 2TB.

With 8GB of RAM and an Octa-core (4×2.35 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo) processor, there’s little doubt about how the Razer phone will fare when its performance is put to the test, be it for gaming or for other activities.

Camera

The Razer Phone has two cameras on the rear side, one, a 12MP wide-angle camera, and the other, a 13MP camera capable of recording 2160p videos, and a dual-tone LED flash. It also sports an 8MP selfie camera.

Battery & Connectivity

The Razer phone is powered by a 4000mAh non-removable battery, which might come into question when taking into consideration the high-end performance of the phone. With a 1440p display and a 120fps framerate, I guess we’ll just have to wait to find out how the battery fares.

Gamers almost always have the need to connect to the internet, and being a gaming smartphone, the Razer phone has taken this into consideration with its provision of a 4G LTE SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac adapters to ensure fast connections to the internet. It also has Bluetooth 4.2.
