-

Testing your cognitive skills whilst on the move has never been easier than in 2019. There are thousands of games available for your mobile device which will have you scratching your head whether you’re on your sofa or on the train.

From simple block moving games to others with far more intricate puzzles, the variation is daunting and might lead to some trial and error when trying to find the right game for you.

Fear not, we’ve put together a collection of four games we think will be perfect to get your brain cells working while you’re on the move.

Monument Valley 2

We’ve already reviewed this game and found it to be near perfect and it is one you should look to download as soon as possible. The prequel, Monument Valley, was awarded Game of the Year in 2014 and the second in the series does not disappoint.

You get to guide Ida, a silent princess, through a beautifully constructed landscape and through the mysterious monuments. You’ll need to lead the crow people too, as well as uncovering hidden paths and optical illusions.

It’s a game that is as beautiful as it is testing and without a doubt one to keep you on your toes on a long journey. Described by Touch Arcade as a compelling universe full of secrets and surprises, the fourth installment is a unique way to fill a couple of hours at a time.

The Room Old Sins

The Room is a series of four games, all of which offer an incredibly atmospheric adventure experience. The most recent addition is The Room Old Sins, with the aim as the player being to solve various puzzles as you strive to find a mysterious artefact after the disappearance of the owners.

As you solve each puzzle, you get a cryptic message from an author that went mad trying to unlock the same box you’re striving to get into.

Eurogamer explains how the fourth installment is a great blend of the previous three games, something all, puzzle fans should look to download.

Bingo Story

Bingo Story is a game that lets you play exciting, live, online bingo against friends but with an added puzzle twist. You’ll play bingo in a quest to collect board pieces and complete puzzles for a host of your favourite fairy tale characters.

You don’t have to play against others; you can play it alone or tap into a worldwide network of other players, something increasingly attractive at the moment.

Online bingo’s popularity is increasingly as people are now able to play a wide variety of games based on the popular social game.

Foxy Bingo conveys how online platforms can offer both the 75-ball and 90-ball versions of the game, as well as dedicated chat rooms where players can interact.

Whether you want that, or to play alone, Bingo Story is a great way to combine a passion for bingo with a unique puzzle element whenever you’re on the go.

Sugar Blast

Linking coloured balls and the like has always been a great premise for a mobile game and the recent release ‘Sugar Blast’ carries on the popular genre. It’s hugely popular too, It has over 100,000 downloads since being released earlier this year.

Sugar Blast is a colourful and user-friendly effort based on the ‘tap-to-match’ concept of puzzle games. Coming from Rovio, the maker of the Angry Birds series, it boasts all the compelling ingredients a quick and easy puzzle game needs to be a success.

All you must do is connect groups of orbs of the same colour to make them disappear. It sounds so simple, but it’s the latest game in the genre to be frustratingly addictive.
